The Gist

Anymeeting is flexible, secure and very simple to use. You can set up a meeting in just a few clicks straight from Outlook or access live events and recordings wherever you are in the world. And while you won’t be using it for any large scale multi-day events any time soon, it has more than enough functionality for small or even medium sized businesses.

Anymeeting has two plans you can choose from.

The Meeting Pro plan supports up to 30 attendees, whilst the Webinar Pro plan supports up to 1000 attendees.

Both plans have all the basic features you would expect from any self-respecting web conferencing software, including screen sharing, group and one on one chat, file sharing and recording. You can also seamlessly share YouTube videos, playing and pausing them in sync with your presentation.

Both plans integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook and Google Apps as well as with more than 400 marketing automation and CRM platforms. However, the Webinar Pro plan also has social media integration and the ability to create custom registration forms, surveys and quizzes.

Unfortunately, Anymeeting does lack some key features that come as standard in other web conferencing software we reviewed. In particular, while screen sharing is available, it’s not possible to transfer control of the session. There’s also no whiteboard. However, while the absence of these features is a bit of a bummer, we wouldn’t call it a deal-breaker.

Anymeeting is entirely browser based, which means both presenters and attendees can join from any device without the need to download anything. However, if you’re a presenter and you want to share your desktop, you’ll need to download an app.

Anymeeting works on all major browsers. Unfortunately, though, you’ll need to have flash player installed, which is a drag. Luckily, there’s also support for iOS and Android mobile devices.

With support for up to 30 attendees, the Meeting Pro plan is more than enough for most business meetings and even for small seminars and webcasts. If that’s not enough, the Webinar Pro plan supports up to 1000 attendees. This is great for a medium-sized seminar, but is unsuitable for large-scale events.

Security And Privacy

All communications and data transfers are encrypted using 128 bit AES encoding.

Access to meetings and recordings can be restricted by requiring an encrypted password, which ensures third parties won’t be able to infiltrate or eavesdrop on a meeting and gain access to your business’s sensitive data.

However, it’s also possible to hold meetings without requiring password protection. In addition, if you’re a presenter, you can keep using the same link over and over. While this is not ideal for security, it’s a handy option to have if you hold certain meetings or presentations on a regular basis and don’t discuss anything too sensitive.

Ease Of Use

Using Anymeeting is as simple as it gets.

The interface is clean and intuitive to use. All the main commands are easily accessible at the top of the platform, whilst clicking on a drop down menu reveals additional options.

Organising a meeting or presentation is equally easy. Unless you want to share your desktop during the presentation, you don’t need to download anything.

Anymeeting integrates seamlessly with both Microsoft Outlook and Google Apps, which means organizing a meeting or presentation is as easy as sending an email with a link to your meeting.

Customer Support

You can get in touch with Anymeeting’s customer support via e-mail or by filling in the form on the website.

Unfortunately, unlike other web conferencing services we reviewed, Anymeeting does not have 24/7 customer support. Business hours are 8am to 10 pm EST on weekdays and 8am to 5pm EST on weekends.

That said, the customer support section of Anymeeting’s website has an extensive knowledgebase, FAQs and video tutorials. Anymeeting also runs an orientation webinar for new users every day.

Anymeeting might not have some of the features you’d find in other web conferencing software, but it’s still a solid offering. It’s flexible, extremely easy to use and packs more than enough punch for small or even medium sized businesses.
